Well, well, well!

Visit to the cardiologist this afternoon saw me being discharged from his clinic. Although my heart is still in AF, so is ten percent of the population, and at least I'm down to a normal rate, ie about 60bpm. So, I'm happy about that, although not so happy to be told to cut out the caffeine! At 10 mugs per day that's a lot of cutting down, but I know it makes sense.

The old smoking issue was not discussed in any depth except to acknowledge that I was still smoking. It's something I will need to cut down or cut out. Financially, at least, it's fair crippling me these days! Maybe after the house move in January.................?

Pleasant Surprise

The old heart, which had been racing away for the last few weeks suddenly kicked itself back into a normal rhythm yesterday! Not that I'm terribly aware of it when it's beating at 135bpm, but to suddenly pop down to 60 again is just wonderful. What am I doing differently? Nothing in particular, except refusing to be stressed out by my dad's situation, the New Hall, or anything else which would normally bother me, oops, and deciding, on a daily basis, to be happy!

I know that sounds simple, but we alcoholics have to sometimes make simple decisions like this which come naturally to others!

Heart of the Matter

The old heart is up again and racing. GP tomorrow! If you hear nothing else, they've kept me in the hospital!

Actually, it's a bit better than yesterday morning when I felt I should actually go to The Vale. The thought of being "kept in" with no priest on Sunday held me back. Let's see what tomorrow brings!

Every Thing is Allright!

Well, the heart is down to an acceptable level.... and everthing is ok!

Except that the new hard drive will not let me install Office etc. Major crisis!

S***

The old heart has popped up again in a big way, and I'm fed up! Could do without this at the mo!

Took some flecconide and hopefully, with rest, I'll get back to normal!

Matters of the Heart

I'm due up at the Vale Hospital myself today! An ECG and an appointment with the cardiologist. My old ticker is still running about 125bpm, and I'm well into the warfarin treatment now, but beta blockers don't seem to be having much effect!

I'm hoping that they may take me in soon to have cardioversion done. It worked last time around!
