Coming to an End

As a result of recent comments and traffic on this blog, and my inability to be anything else other than impulsive in writing posts here, it is with sadness that I have decided to discontinue blogging.

I offer apologies to those I have offended during my blogging days, and thanks to all who have supported me through some grim times in the past, as well as those who have laughed with me at the absurdities of life.

The blog will stay online for a few days more simply so these apologies and thank-yous can be caught by my regular readership.

News of St Augustine's can always be found at the Parish Site

I am sad to hear this. I have enjoyed your blog. When good men are silent - evil wins. I will keep your father and you in my thoughts and send you white light.

Fr Kenny I'm so sorry that you will cease blogging. I've only just begun to read your blog. Too bad about all the joyless ones who prefer to drag down, rather than build up. Perhaps, you'll reconsider after a break. The battering takes its toll.

What happened Kenny? I am so sorry to read this. Please keep me on the St. Auggies Mag list so I may read what's happening there. Please rest and reconsider(as Mimi has said). Love to you and the RW and all the doggies and especially the SA. Susan.

Sorry to hear this kenny, your stuff has often made me laugh and given me hope when things have been very dark and grim. Hope you'll rejoin the blogging world eventually.

Rest but also find someone (or some few) it is safe to rant to privately.

Peace be with you.

By all means take a blog holiday, but don't give it up just yet, unless you are being instructed to do so from on high (and I don't mean from the Big Yin).

Blogging can be a costly business - people give grief on your blog and elsewhere, and one has to develop a thick skin. It also helps if you don't publish immediately after composing - like writing in general, one is best to revisit one's compositions before putting them out to the public. The danger with blogging is that we don't do that, nor do we test what we write before we publish it. Many of us have screwed up because of that....

I think many people appreciate your blog and will miss it if you pack it in, so hang in there for a bit longer, eh?

Have a rest. And then come back. I will miss you.

Sorry to hear you are planning to stop blogging- maybe you will see it as a blogging break and then perhaps come back to it again in the future? I have enjoyed reading your blogs, and hearing about life in another Piskie Rectory where canine and felines rule.

Thinking of your Dad too, and wishing you and all the family the strength to cope with it all.

Thanks for the blogs Kenny- keep twittering now!

Hello, Father Kenny. I came over here from MadPriest's place and am very distressed to hear what has happened. As you can tell from my name, my ancestors hailed from your country. I also used to live in Ireland so I know a little something about the issues. My heart goes out to you.

You will remain in my prayers.

And, oh, lest I be neglectful: Your animals are just beautiful. I'm sure they will console you.

When we stick our head above the parapet, it will get shot at. Sometimes we come to the point where we have to duck down again.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Prayers for you, Fr. Kenny. Spend some time with the beasties, throwing sticks or grooming or whatever, I always absorb some calmness and contentedness from my own beast, 22 year old cat Natasha, the Humane Society's finest.

Pity! You write well and have some interesting topics.

My little blog gets infrequent traffic and comments. I write because I do, not because the audience is large. It is sort of like doing the sermon at 8 AM you only have a few there and are never sure someone heard you.

Sigh

Just came back to your blog, via MP's tip (LOVED your posts about Archie's first days in the fam!)

So very sorry for This Unpleasantness---may God bless and keep you and yours, Kenny, always.

Hi Fr K - I fully understand that inspiration / energy / enthusiasm / etc disappear down the drain sometimes - especially when Dementia is such a regular intruder into your life - it can feel as if you cannot escape to normality, and the walls can close in ........ I too will miss you if you lock the door on us, Kenny. My patch is gathering dust just now, but if it gathers enough dust, maybe we'll find that potatoes and wild flowers will grow.
Grant yourself space and time out Kenny - and go with the ebb and flow of the tide for a time - blog if you wish, and don't if you wish....... but please - don't go deleting yet awhile.

Bad decision, Kenny. I hope it's not final. Do keep your Blogger account in being even if you don't want to post as frequently. I'll miss your wisdom and honesty.

Some people don't understand about blogs. Don't let them put you off. As so many people have said: leave it for a bit and come back when the dust settles.

Or, conversely, do exactly as you want! Hugs anyway....
