The man I blogged about some days ago, who was sentenced to death because a jury found some convenient dodgy passages in the Old Testament was executed last night in Texas. Full Story ......

Sentencing by selected Bible passages seems a sad and grossly negligent situation in this day and age, and maybe something I'd have been heartened to hear World Church Authorities questioning ...

And - are we to seriously understand that in the intervening TEN YEARS since this guy was sentenced, DNA tests on the murder weapon had not been done ? In UK it seems that few murderers serve even ten years as a 'life' sentence, let alone doing ten years and THEN get executed....

Appalling! This is a telling example of how the bible can be used in the wrong hands. Can't believe that this was allowed.

They do stupid things in Texas. The execution rate is very high, and that Governor Rick Perry is the one who advocates that Texas secede from the union. The stupid quotient is very high.

Lord have mercy on the man who was executed.
