I'm beginning to think that Blogs themselves are becoming "old hat" as we reach into the world of Facebook. I do Facebook, but it's shallow and instant and, yes, fun.
My viewing figures aren't brilliant these days, and Facebook is one of the reasons that's so, but have we lost something which was deeper and a bit more thoughtful as a result?
What do you think?

Thought: Maybe my Blog is just too boring!!!
Kenny, keep at the blogging. I do bits and pieces on facebook too but the blog is so much more rewarding.
I have been blogging since 2002 and have no plans to stop. I never check my stats these days but do it as much for the fun of writing it than anything else.

As John Major said (albeit with less conviction), "I'm still here!".
Facebook limits your audience to your friend-set. This may or may not be a good thing.
Blogs offer things that Facebook can't. Like a deeper insight into things that you can just put a couple of sentences about on Facebook.
Back in the marching season you changed the world just a little bit through your blog. Nobody will ever change anything through FaceBook. It's designed to keep us occupied so that the important people can go back to making all the decisions unimpeded.
Go back to upsetting bishops and your viewing figures will increase again. And try swearing a bit more - I always find that does wonders for my stats.
The problem is MP that the RW gets upset when I upset Bishops. She doesn't want to be homeless. I see her point.
Oh, just quote scripture at her, Kenny. You know, "head of the woman" stuff.
Oh, and I promise to say something really nice about you at the memorial service.
Keep blogging, Kenny. You're doing us all good!
I read you every time you post. I don't always comment, but that's nothing to do with you and everything to do with me and my insecurity. Don't look at your stats.
I've noticed how Facebook is increasingly in vogue among people I know in RL just now, but I don't actually make much use of it. It only looks as if I do 'cos my Twitter account is linked to it. I think Twitter and blogging is a better combination, myself, and have no intention of giving up the blog, if only because it forces me to sit down and think and write properly.
As for your blog? Don't even think about giving up!
Another thought: I only actually visit your blog when I want to leave a comment - I read it regularly on my feed reader, which doesn't show up on your stats. Maybe more readers do this?
